GTA Taekwondo

Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association was organized in June of 1962. The group was in charge of Taekwondo administration for 20 years in Incheon, As Incheon city split as a metropolitan city from Gyeonggi-do on July 25th of 1981 due to the split of administration area, Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association was newly organized in Suwon on August 1 st, 1981

Based on new president Hyung Jae Lee appointed on July 25th, 1981, the executive department to lead Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association was composed. Until 1985, new executives were chosen every year to compose the executives department.

President Gwang Chul Hwang was appointed as president on January 29th, 1985 and led the association as the 2nd ~ 7th president.

For the first time on August 25th, Gyeonggi-do Taewondo Association held the first democratic election where Yun Guk Park was appointed as the 8th president of the association on September 8th, Park has well-led the association and his works have been acknowledged where he was re-appointed as the 9th president in 2012.

Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association has great organizational power from the 17 cities of the country. The association possesses 500,000 people and with 2,000 people operating studies in over 30 cities.

With the president active, there are 26 executives, 16 departments, technical committee and special committee composed of 375 people, and also include veteran committee, high-ranking evaluation committee, and national election commission.

The present meeting acquires 23,000 pyeong land in Jungnam-myeon, Hwasung city as academic training center. Welfare fund, scholarship fund, mutual aid fund, and relief funds for member welfare are composed. In the executive office, one secretary-general, one chief of operation, one team leader, 2 office clerks, Public Relations Department, and operation headquarter are separately placed within the building with Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association and Foundation.

Furthermore, 48,000 people in 2011, 78,000 people in 2012, and 90,000 people in 2013 have participated independent test while 100,000 are estimated to participate this year.

This is all due to the results of the events that opened based on members as President Yun Guk Park started to lead the association. From now on, it is considered that all powers will be devoted in skill improvement and Taekwondo prevalence. The history and perfomance of Gyeonggi-do Taekwondo Association have been introduced.
